Real Wedding: Shane & Becky

This wedding was really special for us. Not only do we love Becky & Shane, but we had the opportunity to work with one of our past couples, Lisa & Derren Raser who are now have a successful photography business. It was a really fun day and neat to see things come “full circle”. We’re so proud of those two and how far they’ve come in their photography business this last year or so.

As you can tell, Becky loves yellow. So yellow & gray quickly became the natural color palette and the lovely garden themed wedding came about. I just loved walking into the reception to find a sea of garden flowers….it certainly felt as if it were all outdoors!

Becky & Shane, thank you for allowing us to be a part of this really beautiful day. The love you both share for one another is so unique and strong. It was such a pleasure to witness your wedding alongside your wonderful family & group of friends. Cheers to many, many wonderful years ahead! A+H

I have to end on this last image. It is just hilarious! Go get ‘em Shane! ; )

After our fabulous wedding in Yorkville, IL we took a couple of days to enjoy the windy city. And of course we had to see the giant bean! More photos of the wedding to come soon!

Meet Alex. [C&C Intern]

Friends, we’d like you to meet Alex. She’s been our lifesaving intern this summer and we are SO blessed to have her on board the crazy C&C train…and thankfully, she’s sticking around. Here are a few random questions we asked Alex so that our readers would have a chance to get to know this wonderful part of our team.

Alex, I think you know how much we adore you, but just in case you forget — let this be a reminder. You make us so much better.

To relax….I love to pick up a good book or curl up on the couch and watch some Friends.
The color I am most drawn to….a pale sea foam green.  I think it is such a beautiful, soothing color.
When I hear the word love…I think of my parents and the wonderful loving marriage they have.  They have truly been a testament to what love means.
My absolute favorite food dish…the BBQ chicken chopped salad from CPK…or cake pops :)
Rustic Chic or Fabulously Elegant?…definitely Rustic Chic.
Vacation spot…Although I’ve never been to Hawaii, I would have to say that would be my dream vacation spot.  It just looks so beautiful!
Favorite Season….Summer – without a doubt. That’s why I live in San Diego.  It’s summer here all year long :)
Favorite part about weddings….My absolute favorite thing about weddings is seeing the groom’s face when he sees his bride for the first time in her wedding gown!
Why C&C?….My favorite thing about working with Carter & Cook has been working alongside Heather and Ashlyn.  They are two of the most talented and genuine people I’ve ever met.  It has been a joy and a blessing to learn from them and to develop wonderful friendships with them!  Also I have loved getting know all the couples we’ve worked with :)

Real Wedding Sneak Peek: Rachael & Mike

We traveled half way around the world…okay not really, but to the most gorgeously green suburb town in Chicago, IL called Yorkville. What an honor it was to work with Rachael & Mike & their families on this simply incredible wedding. We’ve enjoyed the last year planning & designing this wedding  & we even had the opportunity to do all the flowers for the backyard affair! Here are a few peeks from Stone Crandall Photography. Dying. So in love…

Kaitlyn & Justin Kurn: Same Day Premiere

If you’ve ever worked with us, you know we always, always, ALWAYS recommend having a videographer there to capture your big day. The photos are of course priceless, but a video is such a special treasured memory that you can watch over and over again, and trust us, you will. If you’re a bride and reading this, you will never regret hiring one. Work a little bit extra, stretch that wedding budget as much as possible to make it happen. One of the best investments of your day.

Aqua Vivus is seriously genius. Each of their videos are so well done with the perfect amount of emotion. I think I must have watched every single one, at least once. Kaitlyn & Justin’s is no exception, although we’ve probably watched this one 13 times since we adore them so. We gave you the peek at a few wedding photos, now here is the video. Enjoy it…and if you’re thinking twice about hiring a videographer, don’t! Just do it…and hire Aqua Vivus. : )
